Verisimilitude is important to Shia LaBeouf: The actor recently said he’d be game to have real sex in Lars Von Trier’s new film instead of simply simulating it, and when LaBeouf’s character drops acid in another movie he recently shot, The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, LaBeouf didn’t fake that either. “There’s a way to do an acid trip like Harold & Kumar, and there’s a way to be on acid,†LaBeouf tells USA Today. “What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that [electric] chair in Dead Man Walking. These are the guys that I look up to.†Still, LaBeouf admits that the Roger Sterling incident made him hard to manage. “Sometimes, it does get real,†muses LaBeouf. “Too real for a [director] who’s trying to keep a diplomatic set.â€
