Baz Luhrmann, still being “nourished†by the Great Gatsby delay, has signed a deal with Sony Pictures Television to develop broadcast and cable TV shows. Luhrmann envisions himself as “the creative director, encouraging others†and their ideas for shows, according to Deadline, but he also has a few pitches of his own. A Baz Luhrmann–backed TV series could be the rococo drama of our dreams, or just an elaborate collapsed soufflé of overambition and glitz. Either way, color us curious!
