After an appearance in the Lonely Island’s SNL short “Jack Sparrow†last year, Michael Bolton has had his first taste of being laughed with after decades of being mercilessly laughed at, and he’s never looking back. Deadline reports that Bolton has signed on to play himself in a new sitcom in development at ABC. The show, titled Michael Bolton’s Daughter is Ruining My Life, is based on an idea from Go On actress Allison Miller and will be written by 30 Rock/How I Met Your Mother writer Tami Sagher. The show will follow an aspiring writer who moves to L.A. and lands a job managing blue-eyed soul singer Michael Bolton’s social media efforts, only to get stuck dealing with his out-of-control daughter, who he recently took in. No matter how funny the show is, it’ll be hard to top Bolton singing “This town’s a pussy just waiting to get fucked†in the “Jack Sparrow†video, which is embedded below for your amusement:
