Benedict Cumberbatch is attached to star in a biopic about the Beatles’ early manager Brian Epstein. (Are you also singing “Cum-ber-batch Wriiiiiter†to the tune of “Paperback Writerâ€? Well, you should be.) Though he was often called the “fifth Beatle,†the producers are saying the film will be less about that pretty famous band and more about Epstein’s personal life. Epstein was a closeted homosexual, who struggled with drug and gambling addiction until his 1967 death from an overdose. Frequent Sherlock director Paul McGuigan is set to direct, which is great because he already knows how to do a close-up on the Batch’s wintergreen peepers.Â
