The Hollywood Reporter writes that Kenan Thompson, who has been on Saturday Night Live since 2003, is working with Lorne Michaels on a single-camera sitcom for NBC. This comes after the news that Seth Meyers is also working with NBC on a show, which suggests next year’s SNL cast will be sans two of its most veteran performers. If picked up, Thompson will write, star, and executive produce the show about Kenan Monroe, a New Yorker who moves in with his in-laws in the suburbs. Oh God, do we hope Kel Mitchell plays his ne’er-do-well brother-in-law.
