Jason Sudeikis has been a cast member at SNL since 2005 and ever since Mitt Romney, whom Sudeikis portrays on the show, lost that big election last month, there’s been a lot of speculation that Sudeikis would use it as an opportunity to leave the show after Christmas to focus on his burgeoning film career. That’s not the case, according to Lorne Michaels, who told the Associated Press, “My sense is, we’ll have him for the rest of the season, and I’d like to keep him for longer than that,†before adding, “I think this is his best season yet.†So, it looks like Jason Sudeikis is gonna be on the show at least until May, even though Lorne Michaels’s wording is pretty vague and non-committal. Having Paul McCartney around this week for the show’s holiday episode would have been a pretty great opportunity to give Sudeikis his Mick Jagger/Kristen Wiig send-off. They’ll just have to book another legendary British Invasion rocker for the finale, like that guy Ringo.
