Movieweb reports that discussions are taking place for a sequel to the best collegiate a cappella comedy of 2012, Pitch Perfect. Universal has yet to make an official announcement on Pitch Perfect 2, but one of the first movie’s stars, Skylar Astin told Movieweb that he and fellow cast member Rebel Wilson have each taken meetings with the studio about a potential sequel. The first Pitch Perfect , written by 30 Rock’s Kay Cannon and also starring Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Adam DeVine, was released in October and performed well with critics and at the box office. So, for those of you who fear a bleak future in which there aren’t any opportunities to watch young people sing in movies or TV, let the news of a potential Pitch Perfect sequel be your a shining beacon of hope.
