CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox Order Pilots: ‘Beverly Hills Cop,’ ‘Pulling,’ Sean Hayes, Jason Bateman

Pilot season is kicking into high gear. All four major networks ordered new comedy pilots yesterday evening for a whopping total of 11 sitcom greenlights in just a few hours. Here’s a rundown on the shows the network ordered pilots for yesterday, a few of which will make it to your screens as full-on series in the fall:

  • Beverly Hills Cop (CBS) - Brandon T. Jackson (Beverly Hills Cop, Percy Jackson) stars as Axel Foley’s police officer son in this TV reboot of the classic ‘80s movie series. Eddie Murphy will guest star in the pilot and produce the show, alongside Shawn Ryan (The Shield), who’s adapting it to TV.

  • Pulling (ABC) - Based on the British series  of the same name, Pulling follows three single women in their 30s and is being adapted for US TV by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, an appropriate choice considering they worked on the US Office.

  • Untitled DJ Nash Project (NBC) - Produced by Jason Bateman and created by Up All Night producer DJ Nash, this single camera comedy is loosely based on Nash’s childhood, following a teenager whose family is going through a divorce. The show was originally set in the ‘80s but will now take place in present day.

  • Untitled Sean Hayes/Victor Fresco Project (NBC) - A multi-camera comedy starring Sean Hayes as the single parent of a 14-year-old daughter who just moved in with him. He’s also dealing with a temperamental new boss. It’s created by Victor Fresco, the man behind cult hits like Andy Richter Controls the Universe and Better Off Ted, so that’s a pretty good sign.

  • Girlfriend in a Coma (NBC) - From Nurse Jackie co-creator Liz Brixius, this single camera comedy centers on a 34-year-old woman who awakes from a coma that had lasted nearly two decades to find she has a 17-year-old daughter from a pregnancy she was unaware of when she went under.

  • Holding Patterns (NBC) - Longtime Office writer Justin Spitzer created this show about a group of friends who are brought closer together after surviving a plane crash.

  • Friends with Better Lives (CBS) - Friends writer Dana Klein created this multi-camera comedy about a group of friends who each think the others have it better.

  • I Suck at Girls (Fox) - Produced by Bill Lawrence and co-created by Justin Halpern (Shit My Dad Says) off of his book I Suck at Girls, it’s a single-camera coming-of-age story about a boy and his father.

  • To My Assistant (Fox) - From Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer, creators of Fox’s short-lived sitcom I Hate My Teenage Daughter, To My Assistant follows a group of assistants at a law firm banding together to cope with their dickish bosses.

  • Friends and Family (Fox) - Based on the UK series Gavin & Stacey, Friends and Family tells the story of a couple who meet on the phone and hit it off, deciding to meet up in real life and begin dating. They run into trouble when their wacky family and friends come into the picture. David Rosen, creator of MTV’s I Just Want My Pants Back, is adapting.

  • House Rules (Fox) - Created by Andrew Gurland (The Virginity Hit) and Justin Hurwitz (The League), House Rules follows a neurotic eccentric family trying to fit into their Midwest town.
