And today in Adele Saves the Music Industry: International music sales actually went up 0.3 percent last year, marking the first increase since everyone started pirating albums back in 1999. Naturally, Adele’s 21 was the No. 1 seller, with 8.3 million albums sold worldwide; Taylor Swift’s Red was No. 2 with 5.2 million; and One Direction’s two albums combined for 9 million in sales.
