After eight years and nine seasons on the air, The Office now has an end date: May 16th, 2013. NBC announced today that the final episode will be an hour long and will be the show’s 200th installment. While Steve Carell is not returning for the finale, departed cast members Mindy Kaling, BJ Novak, and Zach Woods are all expected to return for guest spots either on or before the finale. As far as the show’s final 10 episodes go, you can expect to see more of this documentary camera crew stuff and the nixed pilot for a Dwight spin-off about his family’s beet farm, which will air as a regular old episode of the show sometime this spring and will still be better than a Kevin spin-off would probably be.
