Tilda Lindstam Is New York Fashion Week’s Top Model

As soon as the glowing orb set at Marc Jacobs, the Cut started to study the fall 2013 shows. And based on the number of opening and closing slots, the amount of runways strutted, and some formulae we may or may not remember from a semester of AP statistics in high school, we’ve determined that Tilda Lindstam is New York Fashion Week’s top model! The chameleon walked for 29 different designers (the most shows among her peers), and wore the first looks at Victoria Beckham and Suno, and the last outfits at Tommy Hilfiger and Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti.
Lindstam’s strongest competition came from Julia Nobis, who took turns on 22 catwalks and closed Proenza Schouler; and Sasha Luss, who nabbed nineteen gigs including an Alexander Wang semi-exclusive (we had a feeling Luss would be one to watch). But, truth be told, there wasn’t a Kati Nescher, New York fall 2012 (when she walked in 24 shows and opened or closed half of them) in the crowd; however, that gave a bunch of other girls the opportunity for face time. Tilda Lindstam (IMG) What a week for Tilda! We wondered how she would beat walking in 68 shows total for spring 2013; it turns out booking 29 shows in New York is the first step. The Swede hit nearly every big-deal runway — opening Victoria Beckham and Suno, and closing Tommy Hilfiger and Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti — playing a different character for each designer.

The Russian was a semi-exclusive for Alexander Wang, and after Saturday, she booked nineteen other shows — among them the opening slots at Tommy Hilfiger and Vera Wang, and the last look at Altuzarra.

Julia Nobis (DNA) One of the most sought-after Julias in the industry, this Australian nailed it, booking 22 New York slots — including the openers at Edun and Philosophy, and the closers at Proenza Schouler, Vera Wang, and Victoria Beckham. Hedi Slimane scooped up Nobis for his spring 2013 Saint Laurent campaign, so we'll probably see her in a prime spot at that show, too.

Since then, she's had a fair amount of work (and hair changes). This season, she appeared in sixteen New York shows, opening and closing for Kaufmanfranco. Fun fact: Good was one of Chanel's Haute Couture lesbian brides, so Karl will likely show her some love again in Paris.

Esther Heesch (Next) The 16-year-old made her runway debut at Dior's fall 2012 couture show, and for the spring 2013 season, she booked a total of twenty slots at Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks. This season — her first time walking in New York — Esther has turned up on twenty runways, opening 3.1 Phillip Lim, Diesel Black Gold, and rag & bone, and closing Reed Krakoff. We hope Grandma Heesch was able to live-stream some of them.
