Last night on Late Night, Jimmy Fallon followed Jay Leno’s NBC diss with a much tamer joke of his own. “The rumors are true. NBC is turning the Tonight Show into a diving competition.†After all, the Tuesday night debut of ABC’s Splash, its D-list celebrity diving competition, ranked No. 1 in unscripted launches for the network since 2011. But those NBC rumors weren’t the only thing that got Leno hot and bothered: Vanessa Hudgens booty-popped, just as she had done on Madonna’s dance floor. Also, Eva Mendes tried on a dog shock collar; and Elle Fanning is in love with Eva’s boyfriend, Ryan Gosling. She even has his coloring book, and she’s very meticulous about it.
