The first trailer for Richard Linklater’s Before Midnight (the third film in the Before series, following Before Sunrise and Before Sunset) instantly throws you into a very different dynamic for Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy’s characters. Where in the first two, fate brings them together, in Midnight they are already a couple and the parents of twin blonde girls. So as they stroll and talk their way around a foreign locale this time (in this case, a Greek island), they’re not falling in love, they’re trying to keep it going. The much-anticipated film, which was filmed in secret last summer, got dynamite reviews coming out of Sundance and hits theaters in New York and Los Angeles on May 24. Start preparing yourself to want to go to Greece and be in love with someone forever.
