The Wrap reports that Sony has decided to move the release of M. Night Shyamalan and Will Smith’s After Earth up a week to May 31. It’s a mostly wide-open date, with the only other films opening that weekend being the much smaller magician bank-robbing movie Now You See Me and horror movie The Purge. The move also gives it two weeks before Man of Steel comes out. The winner in all of this might be the 90-minute Google advertisement that is The Internship, which will now be opening unopposed on June 7 — Bing or Ask Jeeves for showtimes.
