Gwyneth, SJP, and More Bejeweled Partygoers at Tiffany & Co.’s Blue Book Ball

Celebrities were a-twinkle at last night’s Tiffany & Co.’s Gatsby-themed Blue Book Ball, which celebrated the jeweler’s new collection of Jazz Age-style jewelry. Guests including Gwyneth Paltrow, Carey Mulligan, Sarah Jessica Parker, who nervously checked and re-checked their borrowed gems as they watched feather-wearing acrobats swing from the ceiling. Carey Mulligan You look very modern tonight. Are you rebelling against all the elaborate ‘20s-style makeup and hair? I just think it would be a little trite if I turned up in, you know. So I probably am trying to stay away from the era a little bit. Did you have any great bonding moments on set with Leonardo di Caprio? At one point we were filming a golf scene on the pontoon, and he took a swing and smacked me so hard around the neck. I was momentarily dazed. But it was like, so painful it was funny and we carried on filming! And he was so lovely. Actually, there were a couple of times I hurt myself and he was the first person to pick me up off the floor.

Jordan wears a brooch of mine on her hip in the movie. I always justify when I buy expensive pieces of costume jewelry that somehow it’s going to be a tax deduction because I’ll use it in a movie.
