Thom Yorke is the special guest on Alec Baldwin’s WNYC show this week, and their hourlong conversation covers all sorts of topics, like how scary Yorke’s great-grandmother was and how he “stalked” Ed Norton until the actor agreed to be his friend. There’s also a nice story about his Sunday Painters club with Stanley Donwood, in which Yorke forgets all the natural paint colors and ends up doing some Cornwall landscapes in purple and blue. (“This poor woman comes up and asks for directions to go somewhere or other and then looks at the paintings and just wanders off like …”). They talk about music, too.
