Don’t worry, Jimmy Fallon is still taking over for Jay Leno as host of The Tonight Show in February; he’s just doing it without the fancy studio NBC promised him. In March, it was reported that NBC was building Fallon a state-of-the-art, double-decker $25 million studio in 30 Rock for his Tonight Show launch, but today, THR reports that the network has opted to keep Fallon in his current studio. NBC spent seven months on plans to build the “megastudio,†which would have seated 400, but they’re now going with a $5 million upgrade of Fallon’s current studio, a decision that he and producer Lorne Michaels are reportedly fine with. I mean, they’re taking over The Tonight Show, so there’s plenty to be happy about even without a new “megastudio.â€
