The Rooney Mara Look Book

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’s 2011 release catapulted Rooney Mara into the spotlight and gave the actress a completely new look. For the role, Mara traded soft brunette curls and sweet dresses for Lisbeth Salander’s jet-black crop and penchant for leather. Long after filming ended, traces of Lisbeth remained in the actress’s red-carpet and street-style looks, as she often chose darker, sleek numbers from Balenciaga and Givenchy. Her now-signature style makes her the perfect candidate to host this year’s Costume Institute Gala, celebrating the “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibit.
