Zoom on This: The Best Clothes of Resort 2014
Summer 2013 has yet to start (at least officially), but designers are already looking ahead to resort 2014. With its usual parade of vivid colors, bold embellishment, and tropical-inspired fare, the season is a feast for the eyes and deserves to be zoomed in on in close detail. Today’s latest shows come from Tory Burch and Moschino Cheap & Chic. Over at Tory Burch, the collection was filled with blooms ranging from exuberant orange and pink flowers to quieter, more delicate blue ones. Hat prints — on everything from sweaters to skirts to bags — added to the whimsy.
At Moschino Cheap & Chic, the collection took a grunge turn, epecially with a mix of heavy black boots and daisy-print dresses toward the end. Blend that in with the tie-dye pieces, the floral crowns, and the cross-body bags, and it seemed to be what a rich, young Italian girl would wear to her first music festival. A lone lace and tweed shift stood out, perfectly combining both materials.
