Community star Gillian Jacobs and ex-Community star Chevy Chase have both joined the cast of the long-awaited sequel to Hot Tube Time Machine, Deadline reports. Chase starred in the original movie in a supporting role as a mysterious hot tub repairman, while Jacobs is new to the franchise, playing the movie’s female lead. In addition to Chase, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 sees director Steve Pink, co-writer Josh Heald, and stars Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke returning. Adam Scott is taking John Cusack’s place as the lead. Corddry has revealed that Scott is playing Cusack’s character’s son, who the gang goes to visit 10 years in the future. The Hot Tub Time Machine sequel takes the spot in Chevy Chase’s schedule vacated by the Ed Helms/Christina Applegate Vacation reboot, which was postponed due to creative differences, so at least he’s getting a sequel in this summer.
