After entertaining audience questions at the premiere of her exhausting new film, MDNA, Madge presided over the after-party at Harlow like a champion. While her daughter Lourdes slow-danced with Homeland’s Timotheé Chalamet, her 12-year-old son Rocco got down with her troupe of superhuman shirtless dancers. At 2 a.m., Madonna and her kids headed for the door, but then Rocco realized he’d forgotten something and dashed back inside. “I’ll be in the car,” Madonna said patiently. And the crowd dispersed.
Read on for Madonna moments with Riccardo Tisci, Debi Mazar, Jenna Lyons, and more.

Ellen von Unwerth, Meredith OstromDo you remember the first time you met Madonna? "Yes, it was during a shoot for French Vogue. I was actually quite impressed. Usually, you know, I photograph so many celebrities, so I am used to it. But Madonna was quite impressive, and very cool. And I had my daughter with me, and she was playing with my daughter. It was really sweet." Photo: Julio Gamboa/BFAnyc.com/BFA NYC

"Yes. I was in Danceteria, working the elevator. She came into my elevator, and a great song was spinning and she goes, 'Hey, you wanna dance? And I was like, 'Yeah!' And I parked the elevator, and we had a great dance together and then later on we danced some more. She wasn’t, like, a big star yet. She was just a girl from Detroit who had a real raw sexuality. From there on we became pals and started dancing and hanging out. I was doing makeup then, and so I did her makeup for years. She was like, 'I’m gonna be a star one day,' and I was like, 'Great!' We also did videos together. The first one was a song called 'Everybody,' and we filmed at the Paradise Garage, and Keith Haring was there. That was the beginning. I was always trying to pluck her eyebrows — they’re caterpillars. At this moment in time I probably wouldn’t pluck them, but it was the eighties, so, you know. Anyway, we remained girlfriends and we still are." Photo: Julio Gamboa/BFAnyc.com/BFA NYC

"We’ve had a working relationship for the past three years [Osbourne was the face of Madonna's Macy's line, Material Girl], and it’s such an honor when you get an e-mail or a phone call from the M-Team that’s like, 'Madonna requests your presence,' and you’re like, 'Yep. I’m there.' I was a baby the first time I met her, so I don’t remember that, but the first time in my adult life, I think I was more excited to meet Lola, because I think she’s rad. But Madonna is one of my idols. I think I just kept really quiet turned into a proper English schoolgirl, like, ‘Yes, ma’am. No, ma’am. Thank you very much. It’s lovely to meet you.’ Very polite." "I think it is 'Like a Virgin.' I was very young and in Italy when she did it — she filmed it in Venice. That was pretty amazing, like, you know, as typical Madonna, she’s always ten years in advance of everybody else. And still today, her career has never ended. She’s the only icon still alive."
The only one? "I think she is. If you think Michael, Madonna, Prince — okay, Prince — Courtney, as a rock star. But she’s the real, like, still active and making people dream, which is very rare and difficult." Photo: Julio Gamboa/BFAnyc.com/BFA NYC

"When I was in high school, 'Holiday' came out, and it was kind of epic. Every girl in my school knew every word to every song in about five minutes. We all had the rubber bracelets, and I did my hair like hers. I mean, I tried. We all tried. I wore lace gloves. I mean, what was I doing wearing lace gloves? We all wanted to be Madonna. She’s one of those people that still gives me goose bumps. She was standing like, five feet away from me at a party the other night, and I couldn’t even bring myself to say hello, I was so completely like [gasps breathlessly], MADONNA. She makes you feel like a little 16-year-old." Photo: Julio Gamboa/BFAnyc.com/BFA NYC

I think I was about 5 years old." Photo: Julio Gamboa/BFAnyc.com/BFA NYC
