Street Style: Mud, Music, and Boots at the Governors Ball

New York’s three-day festival on Randalls Island was supposed to be awash with good music, plenty of beer, and savory hand-held bites doled out at the food trucks on site. Instead, Governors Ball turned into a three-day mud fest overnight, thanks to Friday’s “torrential rainstorm” that transformed the grounds into a swamp. Festivalgoers didn’t let the mud (and overwhelming stench of horse poop) dampen their moods. Taking cues from Glastonbury, they pulled out hardcore wellies and boots of every kind — from Hunters, Dr. Martens, and last-minute street finds — or went completely barefoot. With those, they added acid-washed jean shorts, rings by Alexander McQueen, fanny packs, flower crowns, and crop tops, of course.
