First, a few words about Mortdecai, the adaptation of Kyril Bonfiglioli’s The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery: It will be directed by David Koepp (Secret Window); it involves art dealers and Nazi gold; it will star Johnny Depp as the titular Mortdecai. Now Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor are also attached, meaning some very fancy actors are going to get to yell at each other about whether the painting’s borders match the photographs from the insurance company. (What? Don’t act like you haven’t seen The Thomas Crown Affair twenty times.) Anyway, this is promising Depp-GOOP news, we think.
