Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen has been working on a biopic of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury for three years now, but he has now left the project due to creative differences, Deadline reports. The disagreement occurred between Cohen and the remaining members of Queen, who have approval over the movie’s director and script. Mercury’s Queen bandmates want the biopic to be a family friendly PG-rate movie, while Cohen wants a gritty R-rated story.  Cohen had recruited screenwriter Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, Last King of Scotland) and directors like David Fincher (The Social Network, Benjamin Button) and Tom Hooper (Les Misérables, The King’s Speech), but the band didn’t approve of either of those guys so the movie is now director-less and actor-less.
