Nearly 20 years after its release, Ben Stiller is prepping a TV adaptation of the first movie he ever directed. Deadline reports that Stiller is developing a TV version of Reality Bites, the 1994 Gen X rom-com that he starred in alongside Winona Ryder and Ethan Hawke. Helen Childress, who wrote the original movie, will also write the script to the pilot for the single-camera series that will revolved around Ryder’s character, Lelaina Pierce, and her friends in Houston in the early ‘90s. Stiller will executive producer via his company Red Hour, where he has two new shows on the way, the IFC sketch series The Birthday Boys and Comedy Central standup show The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail.
