Another pair of web video kingpins are making a show for Comedy Central. Following the successes of the Workaholics guys and an upcoming show from the stars/creators of the web series Broad City, Comedy Central has ordered a pilot from Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf, the creators of the hit web series Next Time on Lonny, Deadline reports. The single-camera pilot is called Big Time, following two aspiring filmmaker brothers who go on a cinematic journey after being kicked out of their parents’ house. Ben Stiller is producing the show via his company Red Hour, and Stephen Tobolowsky and Kathy Baker have been cast as the siblings’ parents. The lead roles have yet to be cast.
Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf met as freshman at NYU Tisch and quickly began making videos together. They’re currently at work on the second season of Next Time on Lonny, which is also being produced by Red Hour. Stiller’s company is also producing the upcoming Comedy Central standup series, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, and the IFC sketch show The Birthday Boys, from another team of hit web video makers.
