While not defending his friend’s casting as Batman, Matt Damon is a famous person in his own right. As a famous person, Indiewire reports he has joined Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. Though specific character details weren’t released, we do know it is a small role. In other Damon news, it appears the actor has determined the project for his directorial debut: The Foreigner, which was written by Argo scribe Chris Terrio. It is based on a 2011 New Yorker article about the true story of a man who was killed in Guatemala and had taped a video that implicated the president in his murder. Damon intended to direct last year’s Promised Land but had to back out because of Elysium reshoots. Either way, we bet Ben is really proud of him.
