Judd Apatow has found his newest star: Comedy Central’s Amy Schumer. Apatow is developing a new untitled movie that he will produce and Amy Schumer is writing as a starring vehicle for herself, according to Deadline. Universal has optioned the script, but there are no further details about what the plot of the movie entails. Schumer’s new Comedy Central sketch show, Inside Amy Schumer debuted its first season to high ratings in April and was quickly renewed for a second season, expected to premiere sometime in 2014. This makes Amy Schumer the latest in a long line of comedians to be given a chance to write and star in a movie/show, with her following in the footsteps of Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Kristen Wiig, and Lena Dunham. If the project makes it past the script stage, this will be Amy Schumer’s first produced screenplay.
