Seeing August atop the calendar reminds everyone to make the most of the dwindling summer days, and the past week was a great time to do so: The weather was cooler, the sun nice and bright, and there were parties aplenty. Gloria Steinem, dressed in bright pink, celebrated the premiere of Lovelace with Amanda Seyfried and Catherine MacKinnon; meanwhile, Chelsea Leyland threw a 25th birthday for herself with guests Theophilus London, Michelle Ochs, and a very coordinated Hannah Bronfman. And in case you haven’t gotten your fill of neon face paint and creatively placed headbands from this year’s earlier music festivals, Lollapalooza drew crowds hungry for street-style photographers — and, even better, Salt-n-Pepa.
