You probably could have predicted this one, but Seth Rogen will be James Franco’s roasmaster for his upcoming Comedy Central roast. Rogen made the announcement via Twitter today, writing, “I will be ‘Roastmaster’ at the Franco Roast on Comedy Central. It’s to help promote the Russian release of This Is The End.†The roast is set to be held in Los Angeles on August 18th and will air on the cable network on Labor Day (September 2nd). The network has yet to announce who the other roasters will be, but a lot of actors from the Apatow gang are likely to turn up with Rogen and Franco both participating in the event.
Rogen and Franco most recently starred in this summer’s hit, This Is the End. Before that, they appeared together in Freaks and Geeks, Pineapple Express, and The Green Hornet. They’re set to co-star in Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s next directorial effort, a movie called The Interview, in which they play a talk show host and his producer who have to kill the prime minister of North Korea. With two current movie stars at the center of Comedy Central’s Franco roast, it looks to be much classier than any previous Comedy Central roast by a mile.
