It looks like Adam Scott’s series of Adult Swim specials, The Greatest Event in Television History, are coming to an end next year. During an interview with Splitsider promoting his new movie A.C.O.D., Scott said Greatest Event will be concluding after its next two installments (the full interview with Scott will run tomorrow). The last two specials, the third and fourth in the series, will air November 7th and sometime in February or March, respectively. “It’s a lot of work for such a short, stupid thing, so that’s why I think we’re gonna wrap it up here after the next two,†Scott explains. “Just because it’s sort of a lot of work and stress for something that is ultimately pointless. They’re really fun and they’re fun to make, but we’re ready to move on.â€
Each Greatest Event in Television History special follows Scott and some guest actors filming a shot-for-shot remake of an old TV show’s opening credits, concluding with the full reshot opening credits. Adam Scott created the series with his wife and producing partner Naomi Scott, who also produces them alongside him via their company Gettin’ Rad Productions. The first special aired in October 2012 and featured Adam Scott and Jon Hamm recreating the opening to Simon and Simon, while the second one, from June, starred Scott, Amy Poehler, and Horatio Sanz in a remake of Hart to Hart’s credits.
