Earlier this week, David Byrne wrote a Creative Time Reports editorial about New York City’s wealth inequality and how the city’s creative output is suffering as a result. Today, Byrne has an op-ed in the Guardian about streaming services. Short version: He’s not a fan, because of both the artist pay structure and the effect “cheap streaming†has on the culture at large. “The inevitable result would seem to be that the internet will suck the creative content out of the whole world until nothing is left.†More bummer thoughts from David Byrne here.
