We get it! Lorde, the New Zealand–born, mermaid-haired songstress, is just 16 years old. And there hasn’t been a single article written about her without that very detail in its headline. (We’re even guilty of it ourselves!) But if she is indeed a teen (Lorde birthers, be damned), she’s certainly doing a good job of proving it. The lyrics on her new album, Pure Heroine, are chock-full of suburban landscapes, underage drinking, and feelings of general malaise.
