As Benjamin Franklin famously said, “In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes and more Simpsons episodes.†(He also famously loved Disco Stu.) With that, Fox announced today that the show has been picked up for a 26th season. (Just as a comparison, The Simpsons will have six more seasons than Party Down had episodes.) This isn’t a huge surprise, as the show still does quite well in the ratings: Last week’s episode did an adjusted 2.9 in the 18 to 49 demo, which beat both Family Guy (2.6) and New Girl (1.9). And did you see that amazing Guillermo del Toro intro they released yesterday? Maybe this old gray mare ain’t what she used to be, but she’s still doing quite fine.
