It’s that time of year again, when kids dress in their little kid costumes in hopes of getting candy, adults throw a bag of candy in a bowl and periodically open the door, and hoodlums smash pumpkins as a cry for attention. Well, SNL’s Taran Killam can’t sit idly by anymore. As a result, we have “Don’t Smash My Pumpkin,†a “We Are the Worldâ€â€“style plea to end gourd destruction. The song, which didn’t make it on Saturday’s episode, has a really powerful message and that message is that you should totally get the SNL props department to make your jack-o’-lanterns for you. They’re good at it.
