Comedy Central Renews ‘Adam DeVine’s House Party’ for Season 2

Comedy Central has renewed its newest standup show, Adam DeVine’s House Party. The network has given a second season order to the series, which debuted on October 24th. The new season will be eight episodes and will premiere in 2014. Hosted by Workaholics star/co-creator Adam DeVine, House Party is a standup showcase with a narrative element that features three comedians each episode. “What’s cool about the new generation of standups is they’re making internet videos, and they’re doing improv, and a lot of them are, across the board, really funny people,†DeVine told us in an interview last month. “I kind of wanted to do something that showcases their talents in multiple capacities as far as they’re actors and they can be funny in a situation as opposed to just being funny on stage. So that was kind of the birth of the idea.â€

Adam DeVine’s House Party is currently airing its first 8-episode season on Thursday nights at 12:30am. The current season has featured performances from comedians Asif Ali, Austin Anderson, Ron Babcock, Kevin Barnett, Ahmed Bharoocha, Byron Bowers, Matt Broussard, Pete Davidson, Drennon Davis, Sean Donnelly, Ron Funches, Matt Koff, Annie Lederman, the Lucas Brothers, Brent Morin, Esther Povitsky, Josh Rabinowitz, Adam Ray, Barry Rothbart, Andrew Santino, Sam Simmons, Liza Treyger, Brooks Wheelan, and Hampton Yount. Comedians for the new season have yet to be selected.
