While you were busy planning your Christmas lists and working off that turkey binge, the pre-fall presentations quietly kicked off. Like resort, the season is full of nice clothes that sell fast and are less trend-driven than your standard runway fare. Come July of next year, expect to see plenty of layering-friendly pieces, classic coats, and a smattering of fur. Alexander Wang skipped the logo mania in favor of looks that combined unusual technical fabrics and sporty details, like a black leather anorak that features a silky-smooth chiffon lining. Over at Altuzarra, it was all about easy dressing, with knits that had built-in shirttails paired with perfectly tailored striped trousers. And the normally graphic Calvin Klein included delicate bits of color, as in a pale pink dress, which was worn with the most cozy pair of furry sandals.
