Last August, Sacha Baron Cohen sold a spy comedy to Paramount, and now, the movie is finally gearing up for production. Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me, Clash of the Titans) has been hired to direct the action-comedy, which is called Grimsby, Variety reports. The film follows a British black ops agent who has to go on the run with his brother, an obnoxious Northern England soccer hooligan. There’s no word on which part Baron Cohen will be playing. Baron Cohen wrote Grimsby with Phil Johnston (Cedar Rapids), and they purposefully sought an action director for the project. Filming is expected to take place early next year.
Baron Cohen recently dropped out of the long-in-gestation Freddie Mercury biopic, will be reprising the role of Ali G for a series of new intro segments for Da Ali G Show’s debut on FXX, which will be under the new name Ali G: Rezurection.
