Best Built-in Cape On a night where there were, unbelievably, two capes, Lupita Nyong'o charmed us with an orange off-the-shoulder Ralph Lauren with attached drama. There was discussion about whether it was too evocative of Gwyneth Paltrow's white Tom Ford version from the 2012 Oscars, but Lupita's look is just different and vibrant enough that we think it's a glorious addition to the conversation, rather than a mere homage.

Best Detachable Cape Winner Amy Adams was flawlessly styled and wrangled all night, except that they whisked this sucker off her shoulders before anybody got a head-to-toe photo of her in it (do we smell a cape rivalry? Can we invent one?). We're not really complaining, because the Valentino under it recalled her sexy American Hustle wardrobe in a stunning, elegant, modern way. But she should wear that throw again. And again. And if not, we'd be thrilled to help her wear it into the ground.
