Comedy Centralâs Broad City isnât the only show implementing a live tour into its promotional plans. According to Deadline, the midseason NBC series Undateable â created by Adam Sztykiel and executive produced by Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence â is also taking to the road next month on a multi-city tour. Lawrence will serve as the live showâs host while cast members Chris DâElia, Brent Morin, Ron Funches, and Rick Glassman each perform standup sets. Theyâll also incorporate humor from the TV show, which follows a cool guy who tries to teach a group of âundateableâ guys how to turn their love lives around.
âSince itâs so hard to launch a network comedy in this competitive landscape, we thought we would try a little grassroots marketing,â Sztykiel said. âPlus, it will be exciting to see Bill travel around in a van.â The tour begins this Sunday in New York and ends March 20th in Los Angeles, making stops in Boston, Philadelphia, D.C., Dallas, Houston, Chicago, and Detroit (see schedule and ticket info over on the NBC website). No premiere date for Undateable has been set by NBC.
