Weeds and 40-Year-Old Virgin star Romany Malco has been cast in a high-profile new TV pilot. He’ll be playing the lead role in an untitled ABC multi-camera comedy co-created and produced by Kevin Hart, TV Line reports. Loosely based on Hart’s own life, the show will star Malco as a newly-divorced man trying to stay friends with his ex-wife for the sake of their kids. Hart co-created the show, which ABC bought in October, with Garrett Donovan and Neil Goldman, Dan Harmon’s former Community co-showrunners. Hart is expected to play a recurring role if the pilot gets picked up. Malco and Hart starred together in the movie Think Like a Man, and Malco has guest starred on Hart’s BET series The Real House Husbands of Hollywood.
