Seen in Milan: Retro Glamour, Feathers, and Lots of Cigarettes

Milan Fashion Week is well underway — and, judging by the looks of the collections, fall fashions are going to be all over the map. The Alberta Ferretti show was an exploration on texture, featuring furs and feathered dresses; Gucci and Fendi worked with retro themes, while Jeremy Scott’s debut for Moschino featured highlights of consumerist culture, such as McDonald’s and SpongeBob SquarePants. The Cut’s Alex Majoli roamed through backstage areas, front rows, and streets to capture the scenes around the shows, from a couple kissing outside Fendi to a very full ashtray at Fausto Puglisi.
