Community’s season five finale is starting to look pretty interesting. EW reports that the show is doing a two-part season finale, and that The Office’s B.J. Novak, who has his first book out this week, will be guest starring in the first part as “a TV star in a sexy new series.†As with any Community season finale, the show’s chances for survival are up in the air and the two-parter/meta elements make it feel like Dan Harmon is gonna make something real weird and cool in case this is the end. Of course, like last year, all of NBC’s new shows bombed so Parks and Rec, which has already been renewed, and Community, which hasn’t, stand much better chances.
Other Community guest stars lined up for the seven remaining episodes this season include Chris Elliott, David Cross, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz, and Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan. Community returns for a Winter Olympics break on February 27th.
