Steve Carell’s dramatic turn is getting even deeper. THR reports that he has signed on to co-produce and star in The Priority List, a drama based on David Menasche’s memoir The Priority List: A Teacher’s Final Quest to Discover Life’s Greatest Lessons. In the memoir, Menasche recounts being a high school English teacher in 2006 given a supposedly fatal brain cancer diagnosis, which led to him going on a cross-country journey to connect with hundreds of past students from his 15 years as a teacher and learn to live life in the present while battling cancer, which took away his ability to continue work as a teacher. Carell’s next dramatic film role will be alongside Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum in the Olympic wrestling film Foxcatcher, which is set for release sometime this year.
