[Spoiler alert, if you didn’t see Rise of the Planet of the Apes] Rise of the Planet of the Apes ends with a human-killing virus shown to spread across the globe and kill a lot of humans. As has been confirmed, James Franco’s character was one of the many dead persons. So, we assumed he wasn’t going to return for the film’s sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, this summer. However, Entertainment Weekly’s summer preview issue reveals that he will make a posthumous cameo via a left-behind video. But no one told Franco — maybe. “Wait, I have a cameo? I didn’t know that,†he told EW. “You know, I don’t even think they asked my permission to do that.†Do you believe him? This scene sounds exactly like one he described to MTV back in 2012, when he was uncertain if he was going to actually film it. You just never know if he’s messing with us! We should call him James Prank-o.
