Penn is in negotiations to direct The Last Face, about a humanitarian relief worker (Theron) who falls in love with a doctor (Bardem) while working in Africa; Exarchopolous, of Blue Is the Warmest Color fame, would play a (presumably very pouty) journalist. Does the Gigli curse manifest itself when one person is directing and the other is acting? Or are we working with better odds here?
