The Hollywood Reporter reports Ridley Scott is in talks to direct Matt Damon in The Martian, replacing Drew Goddard, who has his hands full with The Amazing Spider-Man spinoff Sinister Six. Adapted from Andy Weir’s self-released 2012 novel, Damon will play an astronaut stranded and struggling to survive on Mars. Wonder if Martians like apples.
