The first trailer for The Equalizer is out. Although the loose adaptation of Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim’s ‘80s CBS show no longer has Drive director and Ryan Gosling BFF Nicolas Winding Refn at the helm — Training Day director Antoine Fuqua ended up with that position — there’s still a good deal of graphic violence, courtesy of a silent but deadly Denzel Washington to look forward to. The film also stars Chloë Grace Moretz as the woman Washington’s former government spy takes on the Russian Mob to save, while Melissa Leo plays the voice of reason. And get used to these characters — the movie isn’t out until late September, but a sequel is already in the works.
