In No Good Deed, directed by sometimes-Luther-director Sam Miller, a menacing Idris Elba plays an escaped felon who holds a woman (Taraji P. Henson) and her kids hostage in their own home. Judging by the trailer, Elba’s character appears to share DCI John Luther’s predilection for violent outbursts, without the underlying heart of gold. (The abs of gold are, blessedly, intact.)
