Marvel Taps Peyton Reed to Direct Ant-Man

Marvel has announced that Bring It On director Peyton Reed will helm Ant-Man, starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Corey Stoll. Since Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright left the project over creative differences, Marvel has been on the fast track to find a new director to keep pace for a July 2015 release. Anchorman’s Adam McKay, who had been mentioned as a possible replacement for Wright, will be sticking around to rework the script. Marvel also threw in some plot description with the director announcement: “Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.†That means more shirtless Paul Rudd tossing a football around, right?
